Sea Rider - first test (6th April 2019)

Finally the ice melted and I was able to give my new kayak a test.

She is well-balanced, very responsive and a little more lively than I am used to. Overall, I am very satisfied with my first impression. I also realize that I need to get a backrest.

During 2018/2019 I finalised the building of a Yost See Rider skin-on-frame kayak.

Some facts:
Design from Tom Yost (http://yostwerks.org), beam increased to 51,5 cm
Frames made of birch plywood, 12 mm
Coaming made of ash, size 67 x 40 cm
Frame covered with polyester 8 ounce skin (from Dyson)
Skin coated with water based acrylic house paint (Nordsjö One)

Jotunheimen och Glittertind, 11 - 13 juli 2018

Tillbaka till Jotunheimen ett år senare. Norge gav mersmak. Ny konstellation, betydligt varmare och bekvämare boende. Och ännu en topp på listan!

En kort utflykt till Jotunheimen med sönerna för att prova de norska bergen. Vi tältade vid Spiterstulen. Ganska ensamma och frost på nätterna.
